Welcome to
pcsourcepoint, a resource linking
site
for computer freeware, pc and internet tutorials, software
downloads, popular technology blogs, latest techology news, and New Zealand
informational links. So hopefully the best freeware guides and
web-technology news
are present throughout this site.
Blogs
- Tech and Optimization Topics
Included
are blog sites.
Many are informative, offering a range of topics.
Blogs such as Lifehacker
(Mini Tutorials)
and Dosh
Dosh (Website monetisation optimization) which are popular and
present valuable information.
Blogs often allow anyone to add comments, subscribe for updates, within
different blogging
platforms (e.g. blogger, vox,
livejournel, wordpress)
and associated blog enhancement sites (e.g. feedburner,
technorati, feedblitz).
Many bloggers are involved in social network sites, directories, and forums (e.g. myspace,
Facebook, MyBlogLog,
blogcatalog, and blogengage,
twitter, and entrecard).

Tutorials
Check out the New
Zealand section below if you are from abroad (or in NZ!). There are links of
relevant sites...
Linking Computer How To - Boot Up Example
If
you are looking to repair a
corrupted XP
boot up, then
check the link which describes deleting and rebuilding the boot file using
DOS switch commands. This involves booting in most cases from the XP CD,
and then the recovery console, which for some maybe a task in itself.
This approach assumes you have corruption errors
displaying when your computer freezes during boot up...
Computer How
To - Email Example
Outlook links to Yahoo?
Find out how to read your Yahoo emails from Outlook. Maybe save time to open up your Yahoo account.
You can also forward from one email account to another.
Or
perhaps try a
email
notification program, from Freeware in
snapfiles - e.g.
Pop peeper). This saves logging, opening, and closing various email accounts if you have them. Particularly if you are busy
elsewhere on the internet...
Computer
and Hardware Review Sites
There are various
computer, internet, system technology site
links that should help...
CD Freaks
(Refer links in the L/H table below) is worth a visit for comprehensive DVD drive
reviews (includes read/write speed tests) and the latest news. Includes format
standards discussion about blu-ray vs HD recorders, upgrading (flashing) DVD drive
chipsets, software guides, software reviews, and latest manufacturer news. Afterdawn is also a
comprehensive site with a emphasis on film formats, guides (e.g. DVD) and their
format conversions.
Our local ((NZ) readwriteweb which has about 20th ranking for
the top blogs (see Technorati Top 100 blogs) which describes latest news for
internet platforms and news. Then there's the comprehensive Toms Hardware
Guide, which reviews graphic boards, video boards, CPU's and more. But also PC
Hardware Experts is also quite comprehensive.
Down Under In New Zealand
F or
those of you abroad planning to visit and stay in New Zealand for a while, maybe
visit the web sites below. Some relate to technology products or topics. Looking for a hardware bargain of
sorts? Then pricespy will point you
to online vendors with generally the cheapest prices in
NZ which are also ranked and updated regularly. The site also includes links to
the various computer and other online stores with their physical locations. To
supplement this - if you want memory, for
your portable hardware then also see Flash Cards
NZ for competitive prices.
Then there's Trademe
- NZ's best trading site (probably the most popular of all NZ sites) - Always thousands
of traders online anytime, with o ver 1 million items
on auction. Also visit my Trademe
Tips site for basic selling tips. All things - big and small. From toys to cars to houses to PC
equipment...to jobs (including IT ) and more... So visit trademe.
You need to register if you intend to sell, have a credit card or local bank
setup and a delivery address. For employment try NZ employment site Seek
NZ.
Perhaps visit the popular New Zealand Hearld.
Here you can find links to entertainment, technology, travel, lifestyles, and
more. Also
PC World NZ which has a help
forum and Netguide
NZ. Also GeekzoneNZ
and NZ Devlopers forums (Forums, Tech News, and Stores) and GPStore
(Game Planet - Top NZ site for DVD's, Play Stations Games, X-Box, and also a
forum). Look at the warehouse where you
will get a bargain. I hope to keep links updated frequently...
Search
under search New
Zealand, NZS
Com, Newzealandnz which all have a large category of
New Zealand based web sites, topics, and
online vendors. Visit the New
Zealand Tourism site which extensively covers attractions, tours,
accommodation and visitor information....
Your review! - Please feel free to add any comments and
perhaps enter your name and email address. Thanks!
